DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY 17th Century Shirt Pattern
This is a digital download product only. Not a physical booklet
Those who learn from history love to make from it. The 17th Century Shirt Pattern is a whole 25-page booklet that takes you step-by-step in creating your own historical under garment.
Inside are directions to make a custom-fit 17th century shirt that is adjusted to fit your unique physique, by using either the Bara Proportion System or standard measuring systems. With this pattern you will know exactly what size rectangles and gussets to cut to make the perfect shirt for you.
Also included are bonus instructions for stitching both by hand and machine with a reference section that teaches you how to make a Bara tape measure and gives a primer of the hand sewing stitches needed to create this piece.
Recommended Materials:
3-5 yards of handkerchief or shirt-weight linen
2-ish yards of point lace or edging.
Strong thread for sewing, linen or cotton for hand work or your preferred machine sewing thread.
Hand sewing needles (needed for both styles, because sometimes a machine just won’t do!)
Measuring & marking tools: Tape measures, rulers, chalk, pencil etc.
Calculator (for calculating the standardized measurements).
Scissors and thread snips
A tapered, tailor’s awl for making the eyelets
